Transform Your Warehouse Space with Imperial Painters Yatala

We are a small, professional painting team based in and around the Yatala area. Yatala itself is well known for landmarks like the Yatala Pie Shop, a staple stopover for travellers between Brisbane and the Gold Coast since the 1800s. While the area has grown with industry and traffic over time, we’ve stayed focused on serving locals and businesses with expert painting services tailored to the homes, buildings, and commercial spaces unique to this part of the Gold Coast.

Our experienced painters are highly efficient, with our hardworking staff rotating and working across 7 days of the week to make sure our Yatala buisness owners are never let down. How much does it cost to hire an Interior House painter?

To get an accurate price on a full repaint on an entire house, we’d need take a brief look just to get an idea of size but more importantly the level of prep work involved. What does this mean? Well, for a painter, the existing condition of surfaces is a huge part of our day to day jobs. We need to check for things such as dents in the walls that will need filling, large holes that need to be plastered up, mould stains, unsealed surfaces such as new gyprock, new skirting boards that must be gapped up, movement within the walls that has caused cracks, are the walls going from dark to light and will need more coats, the list goes on. On larger scaled jobs it can work in your favour to get an accurate quotation over hiring hourly as with size comes efficiency. However, you can expect to pay $75 per hour for a good painter on the Gold Coast. This hourly rate does not include materials but you will save heaps of cash on paint by using a painting company since our volume of purchases through Dulux allow us to get drums 20-40% cheaper than the public can.

More than just a paint job

The numbers don’t lie, a freshly painted interior will adds value to homes. It’s clear that painting can go a long way in boosting your home’s value when it’s time to sell and rent. Painted homes sell faster, rent faster and command higher prices. It’s a process that doesn’t require planning permissions and doesn’t destroy the bank

Old Paint Sanding

Rough surfaces and uneven textures can detract from an interior finish. We’ll meticulously sand the walls, ensuring a smooth and even surface that sets the stage for a flawless paint job.

Pride in Prep

Interior prep is especially crucial because the closer environment demands precision and perfection. Every imperfection, especially at eye level, becomes glaringly obvious as you walk around your house. Those flaws become even more noticeable when your eyes have nothing else to do but scan the walls. Next time you’re on the toilet, put down your iPhone for a couple of minutes and take a good look around. Proper prep ensures those imperfections are smoothed out, so your paint can shine without any unwanted distractions but also it ensures:

  • Proper paint adhesion to the surface for lasting performance
  • No stains from the surface bleed through into the finished paint
  • Durability

Surface preparation is a tiresome and time-consuming process that is paramount to an imperial level finish. Depending on the scope of the project, home prep can take up a full day and is just as vital as the painting itself. A large chunk of properties on the Gold Coast are 80s built and thus repaints sometimes need a bit of TLC.

We’ll meticulously inspect for damage like cracks, screw holes, smoking stains, and gaps along door frames and walls corners caused by movement. Even if the wall itself is in great condition, previous poor paint jobs can leave runs, which we’ll sand down to ensure a flawless finish—because taking pride in our work is what sets us apart.

Confused about paint?

Interior Paint Sheens Explained

A paint sheen refers to the level of gloss or shine in a paint’s finish. It indicates how reflective the paint surface will be once it dries. Paint sheens range from flat (no shine) to high-gloss (very shiny), and each type is suited for different purposes, higher sheens are better suited where durability, moisture resistance, and easy cleaning are essential. The inside of your home will commonly contain all 3 types of paints.

Low Sheen

Low sheen is a nice mix between gloss and flat/matte. It’s best used in high traffic areas like hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and will make up the bulk of any interior paint.

Flat/Matte

Contains no shine and is entirely matte, it’s almost always used on ceilings where cleaning is rarely needed. Since flat paint does not reflect light, its very easy on the eye.

Gloss

Gloss makes up the least of any interior job and is super easy to clean. Think doors and skirting, window frames, anywhere where dirty hands can get.

High walls, High Ceilings? No problem.

High walls, high ceilings? No problem. We come fully equipped with cherry pickers, A-frame scaffolds, and all the gear needed to safely and efficiently access hard-to-reach areas. Whether it’s a warehouse interior, storage facility, or commercial shed, we know how to move through the space, get up high, and deliver a flawless finish—without disrupting your operations or leaving a mess behind.

FAQ

If space allows, large pieces of furniture are moved to the center of the room and wrapped in plastic and masking tape. If the room is tight, we will move furniture between rooms, rotating them as needed to allow walls to dry.”

Most modern large paint brands are good these days. However, we choose to use Dulux for its consistent quality and proven performance.

We understand that not everyone can be out of the home while we paint, which is why we use water-based paints on 90% of surfaces. These paints dry much faster than their oil-based counterparts and can be dry to the touch within 45 minutes.

Yes, let’s work out a plan together to determine which rooms we can paint first to best accommodate your needs. A complete interior paint job can take up to 7 days, depending on the size of the house. Fortunately, most of the home will be finished with water-based paint, which means each room will be touch dry within 45 minutes.

We use two types of wall filler depending on the size and depth of the dent/hole. Using filling blades we can expertly fill and smooth over any imperfections in the wall before any paint is applied.

No, we use rollers & brushes on interiors. Whilst spray guns are faster in some instances, we prefer the safety of rollers and to avoid any potential for overspray to hit furniture.

Most interior surfaces require just 2 coats for optimal finish, when jumping from a dark to light colour, 3-4 coats will be needed.

Yes, but a thorough wash down with sugar soap is needed, failure to do so will result in yellowing coming through the finish.

We usually aim for access at 7am and to finish up for the day at 3pm. If the property is vacant & can be accessed, we may start earlier and finish later to get the job done faster.

We can also work weekends.

Brand new unpainted Gyprock walls need a single coat of primer, we use Dulux Total prep which is a fast drying high quality all-in-one acrylic primer, sealer and undercoat.

For walls that have been painted before, nope. Most walls nowadays have been hit with a water based coat which means we are good to also hit another water based coat on top with no adhesion issues.

Brand new unpainted surfaces must be primed with Dulux Total Prep before any paint can be applied.

For repaints, it’s not uncommon to find doors, frames and skirts to have been painted with an Oil based paint, in such cases an undercoat will need to be applied, this is because a water based paint does not stick to an oil based paint.

Water based paints are more affordable and are now comparable in quality to their old oil based counterparts. They also dry faster enabling us to re-coat in the same day, and do not leave lingering, overbearing fumes in the house.

Yes, using masking tape neatly pushed down between the carpet and skirting board, we can assure no paint will ruin it.

The test to determine whether your paint is oil-based or water-based is pretty easy. Simply put some methylated spirits on a rag and wipe at a small section of your wall. If the cloth is stained with the wall colour, it is water-based.

The majority of paint used today is water based, chances are your home is too.
